Q : my friend once make dua for Allah to send down punishment accordingly towards those who oppress him. can we do it or not?

A : We can do dua like that. but more afdal is, make dua for ALlah to give hidayah to the oppressor.

Ask for punishment send down onto certain people was dua from nabi nuh as. its permissible to do it.

but the best nabi is nabi muhammad saw. so its more afdal to make dua for Allah give them hidayah, coz its dua from nabi muhammad saw.

thoif people once threw stones etc towards nabi muhammad saw and he prayed for Allah to give them hidayah because they were stupid/jahil, dont knw anything. malaikat asked nabi, ‘you want me to take this mountain and throw to them, i can do it.’ If nabi said yes, Allah swt didnt angry or oppose it. but nabi didnt say yes. he made dua for give them hidayah instead.

If the oppressed people didnt make any dua, Allah swt will punish them accordingly anyway. so not necessary to make dua for them to be punished, since Allah WILL punish them accordingly.

but islam encourage us to make dua. because dua is ibadah.

some people said, we cant make bad dua towards the oppressors(yakni the dua for Allah to give them punishment accordingly). its wrong. we can make dua for ALlah to send down punishment onto the oppressor, the zalim people.

for example, people kill your  entire family and leave you alone. you can make dua for Allah to punish them and sweep them away from this dunya. its permissible. its not like the killer can say to you, ‘hey, we cannot make dua for other people like that towards muslim.’ sedap gamok. after they kill our family, they advice us what we suppose to do etc.

no. we actually can make dua like that, permissible in islam.
